Abstract

 

ABSTRACT

 

                     The study on “The Effects of Opinion Level on Motivation of Moral Teaching Monks in Chantaburi Province” aimed to study level of opinion in comparison to the effects of opinion level on motivation of moral teaching monks in Chantaburi province, using a quantitative research methodology. Data collection was done using the sample of 92 moral teaching monks, questionnaire and statistical analysis for hypothesis testing consisting of Independent Samples T-test, F-test (One-way ANOVA), and Fisher’s Least-Significant Difference (LSD) for paired comparison.  

                        The findings showed the following:

                         1.  Generally, moral teaching monks in Chantaburi province aged more than 40, graduated high school education and highest level of Dharma Scholar without Pali Scholar, 6-10 years in monkhood without clergy position, and mostly working in upper primary level school.   

     

 

 

2. Regarding the effects of opinion level on motivation of moral teaching monk in school, it found the following:  

The effects of opinion level on intrinsic motivation: the highest level belonged to self-responsibility, practice independence, competency enhancement for moral teaching monks in school, and work-life balance respectively.

The effects of opinion level on extrinsic motivation:  the highest level belonged to social acceptance, cultural conservation activity, moral and ethics promotion, social service, and   school participation respectively.

The effects of opinion level on achievement motivation: the highest level belonged to strong intention, problem confrontation, and enthusiasm respectively.   

                         3. Regarding comparison analysis of the effects of opinion on intrinsic, extrinsic, and achievement motivation, it found a difference in clergy position with statistical significance level at 0.05; the motivation level of sub-district’s head was higher than that of other groups in every aspect. For other factors, motivation level of moral teaching monks was not different.
