Abstract

An analytical study about Upekkha Barami of  Theravada Buddhism, a case study of Narada Brahma. There were 3 objectives are (1) to study Upekkha Barami of Buddhism (2) to study performing Upekkha Barami of Narada Brahma and (3) to study performing Upekkha Barami of Narada Brahma for development of life in Thai society.

The results of the research finding: Firstly, Upekkha Barami means that the reliability of the mood to reconcile with the patient, tolerance and firm. Performing Upekkha Barami means that living by equanimity on emotions to affect both good and bad; there were 3 levels: (1) Upekkha Barami level (2) Upekkhauppabarami level  (3) Upekkhaporamatthabarami level. Moreover, there was an important elements of Upekkha Barami is patient, firmness and kindness. Upekkha has 2 types; (1) Mental Upekkha (2) Moral Upekkha. Besides that, there are 2 types (1) To ignore the correct, be ignoring on emotions to affect (2) to ignore the false meditation was called Anyanupekkha , be ignoring to do anything.

Secondly, there were many stories in Theravada Buddhism, but an important story is Narada Brahma. It was about Load Buddha, he could change King Angkhatiraj’s opinion to the correct way. This story has many interests and value​​.

Thirdly, Thai society misunderstands about Upekkha, so they behave in the wrong way. However, performing Upekkha Barami of Narada Brahma can applied to solve social in education, society, economics, and politics for interests both to themselves and others.อ่านออกเสียง
