Abstract

This thesis has three objectives; to study the details of Saccavibhanga Sutta,  to study the Dukkha Ariyasacca in Insight Meditation Practice, to study the Contemplation on The Noble truth on Suffering Appearing in Saccavibhanga Sutta for The Insight Meditation Practice. Clarified data are taken from the Theravadā Buddhist scriptures and other related documents, then composed, summarized, analyzed, explained in details, corrected and verified by Buddhist scholars. From the study it found that;

Dukkha-Ariyasacca is suffering from birth, decay, death, sorrow, lamentation, grief, and despair, or in brief one’s attachment in five aggregates: corporeality, feeling, perception, mental formation, consciousness is suffering. Without such, there will be no suffering

The insight meditation practice in Saccavibhanga Sutta is the training of mind for wisdom and to know the status of fact.  The doctrine in the Sutta is concerning insight meditation practice scoping at the Four Noble Truth (1) Dukkha-ariyasacca (2) Dukkha-samudaya-ariyasacca (3) Dukkhanirodha-ariyasacca (4) Dukkhanirodhagāminīpatipadā-āriyasacca. The intrinsic base of these are physical and mental phenomena and they are used as objects to contemplate for the insight wisdom and attaining Noble Path, Noble Fruition and Nirvana which is the highest aim in Buddhism.

To contemplate on Dukkha ariyasacca according to Saccavibhanga Sutta is the insight meditation practice in accordance with the Four Foundations Mindfulness insight meditation.  To have a right, prompted, consistent and continual practice should finally result an intuitive wisdom to realize nature fact of corporeality and mental states having three characteristics of existence.  These will enhance boring in Sankhara to refrain from lust, liberated from the defilements and to the cessation of suffering at the end.
