Abstract

Abstract

             The purposes of this research were (1) to study the concept of the five precepts and the motivation to observe the five precepts in Buddhism., (2) to study the concept of the process for creating The motivation to observe the five precepts., (3) to present the training kit for creating the motivation to observe the five precepts for the leaders. It is a Mixed Method Research design consisting of the qualitative research and the quantitative one to conduct Pre-Experimental Design. Trial for the training kit with the samples of 15 leaders and the analysis of the quantitative and qualitative data. The research findings are as follows ;

             The five precepts are important to the individuals and societies. Then are the fundamental principles of developing oneself to be peaceful, to extinguish the sorrow, and to cause the harmony to arise to the people in the communities and to live peaceful with the view of seeing the values in oneself and in others. The five precepts are the important bases for the leader to make themselves to be the good types to the societies with the supporting Doctrinal principles such as the Right View, etc. The mental enhancing to help a person to observe the five precepts should arise from the wish to cause one to be happy and to make effort to reach the aim of life. It is the inner mental power on the plus side and the motivating power according to the Buddhist view which the Buddha used to motivate the people to observe the five precepts for going along the middle way of going away according to the principles of the Eightfold Noble Path which helps a person to know to the right way of leading his life and is useful for oneself and the others.

             The process of creating the motivation to observe the five precepts for the general people depends on the learning and the listening from other people called (kalyānamitra) and the thought of the cause and the reason by oneself called (yonisomanasikāra).Then, they are brought for practicing and training (Dhammānudhammapatipath). The process of learning process is the instrument constructing the mental force which helps the one who attends the training course to bring the five precepts to be practiced. The way of setting up the learning process is to help the participants to be mental energy in practicing according to be principle of the five precepts. It is the overall process of learning and knowing according to the Buddhist and Western ways with the important documents: (1) to hold the learner centre of learning (2) the teacher is of the role as the Buddhist Learning Facilitator (3) it is of learning carried out according to the principles of the Eightfold Noble Path, with the motivation according to the Buddhist way, that is of Kusala-dhammachanda, Viriya, Citta and Vīmmsā which are the  Iddhipāda according to the five precepts.

             The purpose of the training kit for creating the motivation to observe the five precepts for the leaders that were (1) to achieve the knowledge (2) to

group of the l who train the process of building up the mental strength in practicing according to the (2) to achieve the Attitude Positive Thinking (3) to achieve the Motivation According to Buddhist's Concept. The essence of setting up the learning activities consists of: (1) to study and know about the group of building up the Suddhā is of six minor activities (2) to know about the group of Yonisomanasikāra

is of 10 minor activities (3) to know about the group of building up the Sati on the side of the activities used in the management of the activities with the principle of

2R 2S 2D which are the Recreational Games, Role Playing Story telling, Satipattana, Discussion, (Dhammas in the movies and music.

             The results of the training kit for creating the motivation to observe the five precepts for the leaders it is found the leaders gained more scores on the motivation to observe the five precepts in every dimensions significantly at .05 level.

The leaders attending the course of training are of the intention, the effort, the interest and the more usage of wisdom in considering the observation of the five precepts. This fact caused the leaders to have right view and to be of mentality in seeing the values of the precepts and be of the ad-viewpoint in carrying out their lives. It can, thus, be concluded that the training kit for creating the motivation to observe the five precepts for the leader that researcher created can be brought to train the leaders to have more the motivation to observe the five precepts.
